Certified Peer Recovery Supporter Training being Offered

Hancock County ADAMHS is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services 40-hour IN-PERSON Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) Training! To register, please email [email protected] or call 419-424-1985 for more information.

  • September 16-20th, 2024- 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Location:  NAMI Hancock County, 305 W. Hardin St. Findlay, OH 45840
  • PRS training teaches individuals in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use issue to use their experience to help their Peers who are also in recovery. To attend PRS training, you must be personally in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use issue (having a friend or family member in recovery does not qualify you to attend PRS training). You must also be willing to appropriately share your recovery story in a group setting.
  • Lunch will be provided Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please bring your own lunch on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Please note, to be eligible to apply for PRS certification, you must be present for all 40 hours of this training. If you arrive late, leave early, or miss any portion of this training, you will be required to repeat the entire 40 hours of PRS training. If you have prior obligations during any portion of this training (including medical appointments), please select a different training.
  • Certificates of completion for the below 11 eBased Academy courses will be required as part of your Certification Application Packet (submitted to The Ohio Dept. of Mental Health & Addiction after training). Register for your free eBased Academy account at www.ebasedacademy.org.
