Focus on Friends

Focus on Friends provides peer-led support and resources to help people improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and sustain their recovery.  We believe in Recovery.  Focus on Friends is a peer-led recovery center that offers support and resources to people impacted by mental health and addiction issues. Focus on Friends has been certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health since 2007.

We believe every person has the ability to heal and recover.  To us, recovery is:
Holistic – involving mind, body, relationships, and spirit
Transcends shame and stigma
A process of healing and self-definition
Emerges from hope and gratitude
Is supported by peers and friends
(Re)joining and (re)building a life in the community
A reality.

The vision of Focus on Friends is to create an inclusive culture of recovery through Hope, Understanding, and Acceptance.  We offer a variety of activities and opportunities for social interaction and skill building throughout the month. The recovery center provides a unique mix of socialization, education, advocacy, and support as well as the opportunity to be a part of a caring community of individuals who have lived experience with mental health and/or addiction issues.

We have many opportunities for volunteers!  Please contact Kristen Bensman at 419-423-5071 or for more info!
